Solution decision path

From application problem to connector selection

Use this route to turn an operating condition into technical requirements, suitable product families and a complete RFQ package.

01

Application problem

What operating condition is creating connector risk?

EPS systems need stable high-current motor paths and reliable control or sensor circuits while managing vibration, temperature, packaging and safety-related validation requirements.

Define use case

02

Connector requirement

Which technical requirements must be confirmed first?

Power: motor current, terminal size, cable and temperature-rise review / Signal: torque sensor, position and ECU control circuits / Mechanical: polarization, retention, vibration and harness strain relief

Check requirements

03

Product route

Which product families should be reviewed for this solution?

6.3mm Automotive Power Terminal / 2.8mm Sealed Automotive Power Connector / 18 Pin Automotive ECU Connector

Engineering review

Technical risks to confirm before product selection

These points help buyers understand why connector selection should be reviewed by application, not only by product name or pin count.

Motor current must be reviewed with duty cycle, cable, contact resistance and local temperature.

Sensor and control circuits should not be treated as equivalent to the power interface.

Safety-related EPS applications require customer-approved drawings and validation; catalog similarity is not approval.

Solution FAQ

Does an EPS project use one connector type for every circuit?

Not necessarily. Motor power, sensor and ECU control circuits can require different terminal and connector systems.

Can a visually similar EPS connector be substituted directly?

No. Interface geometry, keying, terminals, circuit loads, materials and validation must be checked against controlled project requirements.
